Some of the processors I've worked with over the past thirty years...
MOS 6502 B
Well I suppose I really should mention it. I told a friend back in 1982 that I dis-liked them, and He was
doing his best to convince me that this was the final answer to the worlds computing problems. (PRAT!)
I told him that the Z80 will be around for many years to come, long after the 6502 is dead and buried!
I had been working with the (superior) Z80 for a couple of years, and hated these devices...
Well. It's been used in many home computers. The Acorn BBC and Commodore pet included.. Many people say
very nice things about them. and I have seen them in use, and done a good few hours of fault-finding
on systems containing them. The most remarkable was the commodore pet 128k based (rather un-fortunately named)
Wayne-Kerr Artworker. which used three processors in the basic machine, and four processors in the 3000?
variant (one of them a 68000 on a VME card). I still say that this device is a turd with forty legs, and
should be dealt a swift blow with a really big hammer to put it out of it's misery.
