Some of the processors I've worked with over the past thirty years...

The 8086

8086 clone made in the USSR in 1989

I don't really know where to start on this one... These things turn up in all of the usual
Places. Used in a wide variety of embedded control applications, and also, of course
in the early PC type systems. Ease of development made them a popular design choice
as the software tools, assemblers, linkers etc.. were available on PC's. Can be used with
the 8087 co-processor. Was followed by other members of the 80x86 processor family
in the PC world, although the 80186 was used more in the embedded world rather than on
the desktop. The 8088 was used in early PC systems too, possibly to keep costs down.
